Responsibility
Our Responsibility Promise
At Lappituote, we strongly believe in the importance of responsibility in all our operations, both with producers, customers and our employees. We are committed to offering our customers high-quality and sustainable products and strive to develop our operations in an ever more responsible direction.
The products we sell are safe and have passed the appropriate import inspections, for example all our stuffed animals and toys are CE marked and have passed EN71 standard tests, in accordance with the requirements of EU directives.
We have made it our business to get to know the manufacturers of our products and other partners, as this way we can ensure that our products are of high quality and that they are manufactured in an ethical and ecologically sustainable manner.
We believe that even small actions can have a positive impact and we commit to following common rules and acting responsibly.

Energy use:
We mainly use air-source heat pumps, which are energy-efficient, as a heat source in our factory. 13.5% of our purchased electricity will come from renewable energy sources in the financial year ending 2025. Our goal is to increase this figure and favor mainly renewable energy sources.
Water use:
Our water consumption in products facilities in the financial year ending in 2025 was 38m3, which was 14m3 less than in the previous financial year.
Recycling:
We strive to reuse all cardboard boxes we receive, and broken ones are recycled for cardboard collection.
We also strive to reuse as much packaging plastic as possible. Our goal for 2026 is to recycle all excess packaging plastic.
We strive for a zero waste philosophy in our products, where even surplus material is recycled to other operators.
Our product design is guided by the idea that even small surpluses can be used to create new products, such as jewelry.
A few years ago, we launched our first circular product line, which is made from 100% recycled plastic. Our goal is to increase the use of recycled materials in our products.

Own products:
We manufacture our own products by hand at our Kemi factory. We value our employees by offering them a safe workplace and fair treatment. We also strive to continuously improve working conditions. In recent years, we have improved logistics and work equipment and invested in work ergonomics. We have introduced employee benefits and increased comfort by renovating the premises. Long-term employment relationships are a testament to the enjoyment of work; we only retire when we retire.
In our own products, we use domestic natural materials familiar from the north, such as reindeer antler, curly birch and elm wood.
The blades for our knives come from a Finnish family business.
We know every reindeer breeder from whom we source our antlers and can therefore be assured of their responsible operating principles.
