Lappituote's product development has always been guided by customer feedback and the strong opinions of experienced employees. We are constantly updating our selection so that you can always offer your customers the hottest new products of the season!
Lappituote 40 years
Lappituote Oy was founded in 1986 and is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
A lot has happened in the company over the past decades, and we wanted to highlight
the most important highlights to celebrate the anniversary.
Eero Himanen founded the company. The first products, such as witch drums and reindeer antler products, were made in a garage.
The company moved from a garage to larger premises on Korjaamontie and the company form changed from a trading name to a limited liability company.
The first imported goods - such as stuffed animals - arrived in the assortment.
The company celebrated its 20th anniversary.
COVID-19 stopped tourism worldwide, which also affected Lappituote's operations. However, operations recovered after just one year and tourism grew even faster again.
The company underwent an organizational change when Eero's daughter Iida Kanto took over as the company's manager.
As operations grew, the premises on Korjaamontie began to become too small. Initially, a new 370 square meter hall was purchased, after which an additional 500 square meter wing was built on Korjaamontie.
The business continues to grow and construction of a new warehouse is planned to begin in the summer of 2026.
Plenty has changed in the 40 years of operation, but Lappituote's service concept is still the same:
to offer customers the most comprehensive and wide selection of Lapland souvenirs and gift items.
Our Christmas selection includes everything you need to create a festive Christmas atmosphere. Our goal is to have seasonal Christmas products available all year round. Check out the selection and get ready for Christmas in time!
Our knives combine domestic raw materials and decades of craftsmanship! We use curly birch, birch, reindeer leather and reindeer antler as materials. The blades of the knives are made from Lauri Metalli Oy's famous, alloyed carbon steel 80Crv2. Discover our handcrafted knives!
